Pakistan 2000

In June my wife and I went on our honeymoon to Pakistan.

We travelled over 4000 km in Pakistan during the hot season, visiting the North-West Frontier Province and the Punjab

Our friends and family thought we were mad!

Our guide was Ali.

Ali is from Hunza, and is an experienced mountain guide.

Most of our travel was in an air-conditioned mini-van, driven by Mohammed.

Ali and Tufal quickly became our good and trusted friends.

What an exciting trip!

Ancient bazaars in Lahore and Rawalpindi, the dizzy heights of the Shangla and Lowari Passes, and the 'wild west' Pakistan-Afganistan border with our personal armed guard.

Along the way we saw Mosques, mountains and snow, ancient history, and a culture of kindness to strangers.

Take a moment to look at our journey and see the wonder that is Pakistan!
